Being Indigenous Overview

The Chilean Indigenous People Portal contribute to the valoration and difussion of the cultural expressions of the Chilean Indigenous People. The portal is available in different languages:
Serindigena.cl (Spanish version also with translations to Aymara, Rapa Nui and Mapudungun Languages) . Beingindigenous.org ( English version).
Also we have the
Magazine.serindigena.cl that is a on line publication about the current news of Chilean Indigenous People. At the moment a few articles and features are available in english.

Regions

Beingindigenous.org is composed of 13 Regions. Each region has information about an especific Chilean Indigenous People.

Regions: Aymara · Quechua · Atacameño · Kolla · Rapa Nui ·Diaguita · Pikunche · Mapuche · Aonikenk · Selk'nam · Kawésqar · Yagan.

The regions are available in indigenous languages: .Aymara Ver páginas en lengua aymara ... Rapa Nui Ver páginas en lengua rapa nui ... Mapudungun Ver páginas en lengua mapuche ...

There are four main subjects in each region: People (general description, history, environment), Languages (Indigenous languages), Customs (spiritual world, rituals, ceremonies) and Art (craftsmanship, music).

Resources Area
Contains a number of on-line resources related with Chilean Indigenous People. This area consist of three sections: Multimedia, Library y Links.

Multimedia: with Videos and Indigenous Music for downloading or listening on line, Image Directory with a large collection photographs and Storytelling from Indigenous People.

Library: here you will find Dictionaries in Indigenous Languages (mapudungun, rapa-nui y kunza o atacameño), on line Books for printing or downloading (Indigenous poetry, legends, etc.), Documents and Bibliography.

Links Directory: with more than 300 useful links to a lot of indigenous peoples sites. The links are arranged by topics and have an indication of the type of information that are available on.
