This pottery is the most beautifull, finest and best
decorated of all the ones found in the territory. It
distinguible by its painting, tipical shapes and its
specials technique of decoration. If it well appears
during the Tiahuanaco period, it had an own development
after the decadence and desaperience of that civilization.
It absorved certain elements of the Chinca culture,
being developed in a tipical way, creating an own and
different type of art.
The ceramics had several phases, at first was characterized
by its crossings and staggered geometric designs. Later
than the human forms appered, worked always on a red
botton by red and white paintings.
In the classic period, the "jarros pato" (duck
vessels) that had a simple shape and handle decorations
in relief, appeared.
Finally, the animal and advanced designs sucha as triangles
and "tableros de ajedrés" (chessboards)
appered under a strong Inca influence.
