Wooden Carving

The wood carving of this culture, can be apreciated, on the tablets used in rituals and ceremonies by the priests of the culture of San pedro that inhaled a dust with hallucinatory and stimulating efects. The "Complex of Rapé" is a game in wich the related pieces practiced the breathing of allucinogen that, generally, are formed by the following pieces:

a) The tablet, that is a small bowl, generally made of wood, of a rectangular shape. Its edges are slightly elevated and is generally suplied with a prolongation or handle with carved or sculpted figures and, sometimes, with semi precious stones inlayed;
b) The tube for inhaling Rapé, made of bone or wood, that is composed by a mouth piece and the tube, often with sculpted figures that are practicaly alike with the tablet;
c) Cactus spines that have been found in various ocassions inside the tubes, that might have been used for cleaning the tube;
d) Small wooden mortars, probably destined to the milling of ingredients;
e) Small recipients or wooden boxes, of wood, ceramics or sometimes bags, maybe destined to keep dust or ingredients;
f) Wooden or bone spatula, that wood have served to take the Rapé out of it´s recipients or for leaving it in the tablet
g) A wool bag used to keep these implements.
